It is inefficient to turn up the thermostat just for the bedroom. This will increase your energy costs.

You can heat your bedroom, or just the bed, better.

These are the best ways.

1. 1. A Heated Mattress Topper/pad

A mattress heating pad is made up of a network wires. The heat is turned on and current flows through the wires, heating them up.

This warms the mattress and pad.

You can adjust the temperature of your bed by attaching a controller. Many heating pads have timer controls which automatically turn off the heat when it is used up.

Dual controls allow you to set the temperature for both sides of a heated mattress pad. These are ideal for couples who have different sleeping preferences.

2. 2.

An electric blanket functions in the same way as heating pads. Heating pads and electric blankets can be interchanged in certain places. Sometimes, they are also called underblankets.

An electric blanket is a heating pad that you place on top of your body. It covers you, not makes you sleep on it.

The controls for electric blankets are the same as those used in heating pads: timer, temperature control and dual controls (in certain cases).

BedJet is the best climate control system.

The system directs warm air under the sheets to the mattress. It can be plugged into a comforter that has cavities, where it pumps warm air in.

Climate control systems offer many of the same features as an electric blanket or heated pad.

You can create a dual arrangement for your partner. You can adjust the temperature of the bed and set a timer.

4. Hot Water Bottle

A hot water bottle is an excellent choice if you are looking for something inexpensive to heat up your bed each night. If it’s only your feet that are cold, it’s a great option.

However, if you are looking for whole-body warming, I would recommend any of these methods. These are more effective than hot water bottles and they’re much cheaper.

A hot water bottle is free to use.

5. Space Heater

You can warm up your bed by heating your bedroom.

A space heater is the best option.

You don’t necessarily need a device that produces a gazillion BTUs heat. You might end up paying twice as much for it as turning up your thermostat.

A small, 1500 watt fan-forced radiant ceramic heater is recommended. A 1500 watt infrared heating heater is available for something even more efficient.

Space heaters are versatile. You can take it out of the garage and put it in your living room, or in your home office.

That’s why you don’t need a heating pad.

One Note About Heating Pads And Memory Foam Mattresses

If you have a memory foam mattress in a box mattress, be extra careful.

Memory foam mattresses react to heat more than other types of mattresses.

Viscoelastic foam quickly absorbs heat, keeps it indefinitely and then softens noticeably.

This isn’t a problem the first night, or the second. However, over time your mattress may start to lose its firm support.

However, low heat levels for a short time will not cause any harm.

Protect your mattress by using the lowest setting of your thermostat, heating pad, or climate control system.

Pre-heat the bed for about 30 minutes before you go to bed.

Turn it off, and the heat will keep you warm throughout the night.
